"Technology," the lyric.

When you climbed aboard that DC-10
I figured I'd see you again,
But I snapped off your little finger just in case;
Just in case that plane would crash
And you'd be reduced to ash,
Without one living cell to clone you back to me.

Technology has taken you away from me,
Technology will bring you back again,
Darlin' it's so nice to have some of you on ice,
So the rest of you will grow to love me again.

I gave you Novocain, and I cauterized that vein,
'cause digits hurt and bleed when they go missin',
I wrapped your hand in gauze, and smiled inside because,
A little part of you was goin' back home with me.
.
(Bridge)   As you waved your bloody hand goodbye,
I had to wonder why you cried,
Best case scenario, you'll fly back home,
And at worst I've got me some cells to clone.

So, when I heard that plane went down,
I didn't even frown,
Though every living soul had been reduced to carbon,
I pictured the dead ringer
I'd be growing from your finger,
And I knew that you would soon clone back to me.

Technology has taken you away from me,
Technology will bring you back again,
Darlin' it's so nice to have some of you on ice.
So the rest of you will grow to love me again.

Well, I wrote this song for you,
Cause I didn't have a clue,
That clonin' folks requires a little trainin',
Your finger just keeps shrinkin',
And now it's started stinkin',
And I'm thinkin' you're not clonin' back to me.

Technology has taken you away from me,
Technology will bring you back again,
Darlin' it was nice to have some of you on ice.
But you will never grow to love me again.
